Planning a research project

At this stage of your degree you will more than likely have developed particular interests and become somewhat familiar with the associated research literature. With such a tight timeframe to carry out the research and write the paper it would be wise to work in terrain about which you have some knowledge and familiarity.

The other consideration is your personal and professional interests. Working on a topic that is something you are passionate about or for which you have a great curiosity will mean that the doing of the paper will be a good deal less onerous than simply picking something for the sake of completing this task. You wil invest a lot of time in this work. Make sure it is something you actually want to do.
